Set up was easy with very clear instructions provided by Canon. Overall, I'm pleased with this printer and have already reproduced a number of prints that were previously output on a lesser grade photo printer. Plus the printing attribute options are plentiful and make a real difference in the quality of output and print. The software driver is pretty intuitive and allows you to customize and save settings by paper size and printing attributes. Don't skimp on the quality of paper as the paper makes a big difference in the output print quality. However, Canon does offer some competitive deals on ink and photo paper combinations. Expect to pay just over $100.00 for a full compliment of cartridges. Ink consumption is OK ,with the printer taking 8 separate cartridges. My HP All-in-one does a better job on regular paper. The printer is just so-so when using regular stock paper, 22Lb. Using good quality photo papers the quality is just as good as a professional lab. Following reading multiple reviews for the Pixma 9000 and comparing with other like kind printers, I pulled the trigger on this one.
